The Brunswick Gallery in the 80’s

On railroad street in Missoula. I had a writing studio and darkroom here for about ten years. No phone, and people would come and yell “hey” up at my window when they wanted to visit. George Everett came by one day and yelled and I looked out and he had an ax. But I let him up anyway and he took some photos of me. Someone else took photos one night as I was working by candle light. I wasn’t supposed to sleep there, but several times I had no where else to stay so I slept on the floor, on a thin futon. I wrote a lot of stories in the Brunswick. I developed a lot of negatives. Slowly working on typing the words and scanning/printing the negatives….  here are some photos from that time, and of the Smith Hotel where Floyd lived until the place started to fall down….
